Last Day of School

Yeah!
The last day of school today is a very busy day we are officially finished grade 2,4,6,8,10, and 11. We have awards day, baseball games, and report card to pick up. My middle son is receiving a wonderful award ( I know this because the school phoned) he is being awarded THE TOP MALE ATHLETE for the year. We are so very proud of him and my youngest daughter is receiving most SPORTSMAN LIKE and again we are very proud of her as I think I mentioned in a previous post she just brought home the trophy for ALL ROUND TOP FEMALE ATHLETE for our district.
On the knitting front I am still trying to master a sock not socks but one lonely sock. I have a hat on the round needle which is also slow. I don't know how people knit so fast, me I do one or two rounds and I have to put it down. Well I loved to write more but the day is calling for me to get going.

Hot warm days

Our weather has finally warmed up and of course we are not used to it and neither are the animals. The poor rabbits take it hard so I must take off some more wool for them tomorrow. We give them frozen milk jugs and their cages and covered with tarps but it is still really hot for them in their hot fur Coates.
The wool I dyed with honeysuckle turned out to be a real pretty bright yellow. I will post pictures soon. I have been plying some lovely wool from Aurelia wool and weaving it is beautiful shades of pink , a slight sparkle and a touch of tan. I hope to get it done soon so I can go and try out my new loom. I have the makings of a scarf on the warp for my first project.
I am trying my luck at socks with some nice wool I spun and dyed last fall with marigolds and I am also casting on stitches to try my first took. So wish me luck.

Summer Solstice

Do you have plans for Summer Solstice.
Today is the longest day of the year my plans include heading off to Logan Lake to spin with some wonderful ladies for a few hours. I am going to try my luck at dyeing wool with flowers of my Gorgeous Honey Suckle and some Plantain (not sure on the spelling) and then this evening when we are all together we will have a Lovely Rasberry Cream Cake which I might add my children have not been waiting too patient for.
Yesterday was my middle daughters awards day and she won two awards one was for being on the honor Roll all year and one was a trophy for Outstanding Work Habits. We are very proud of her.
Enjoy today and join your family to make Wonderful Memories.

Wonderful Weekend

What a wonderful weekend after a month or so of trying to make a time work for my neighbor and myself finally we met up with the Shearer and had our Alpacas done. I had my oldest son, oldest daughter, my son's friend, neighbor, the shearer and myself so it made the job go quite quickly. I was quite pleased with my Alpacas they have wonderful Fibre so I am quite excited to get the wool processed. I will hopefully get my Alpaca fibre done this fall or during the Winter and I would like to get some blended with Silk and Angora and I hope to get some Mill spun plus some made into rovings. My Alpacas are quite tame I have three females and two males so we hope to have little ones next April. Dealing with the Alpaca's is new for me I only got them in November 2005 so it is learn as I go along. I have had my name on order for a book which I hope will be here soon.

Then we made a quick trip to Kamloops to buy a new computer program on how to make a web page and to let the kids look in a few stores. Then on Sunday we had a lovely BAR B Q for Fathers Day. Talk to all soon

Setting Up a Web Page

Did you know how difficult it is get help or information on setting up a web page, it is definitely harder than it looks. I have been trying for a few days asking around and not getting any farther ahead. However I will persist and I will win.
This blog will pretty much be about any topic but a lot will relate to Wool, Fibre, Learning to Weave, Sheep, Goats, and Angora Rabbits and my family all the things that surround my everyday life.
Today was my middle daughters Track meet the weather was miserable but she did well and had fun. An unfortunate incident happened at the track meet to a Grandma who was sitting in the bleachers watching the races she had some sort of attack and at one point seemed to stop breathing (however not 100% sure on that I moved away to let people help her). However her luck was with her though she was sitting next to a paramedic who was also watching her child plus two nurses. It definitely puts a damper on the day and it makes you sit down and think and be thankful for everything you have and grateful we should be for our life.
So when you all go to bed tonight think of all the good you have in your life and tell your family how much you love them.

Swimming Koi

Hi again

Hi I'm back after several months off, I have decided to try my luck at blogging again. This time with a few changes - to leave a comment one must put in the code that the blog gives you and I hope this will stop the unwanted comments that get put in. I really missed writing in the blog I met quite a few real nice people and I would also like to share this with my family so they can keep in touch with our day to day life.
