Chocolate Night

Posted by Picasa
I just got home from making chocolates with my mom we try to do it every year and we always feel sick from testing. I will post pictures later. We had a little trouble with the pink chocolate nothing too serious just a lot of smoke from the Microwave :) So now to hide them until we get a little bit closer to Christmas...yeah good luck... I have had to have a guard on my cookie exchange cookies I am not sure why they don't just bake some.
I am getting a little bit of spinning done but not a whole lot I am hoping for the meetings to settle down. Tomorrow we are off to go to my youngest son's hockey game and let the kids do some Christmas shopping and pick our tree, the n my husband will go pick it up and we will have to store it very carefully from dogs, goats etc until next week we usually put it up on or around my husbands birthday. We are finding it harder and harder to squeeze time in to find a tree so we cancelled a few games so we could go this weekend.
Well I have to go and try to stay awake until 11:30 until my daughter gets home from time keeping our neighbor has offered to bring her home as he refs the last game that she time keeps.

Tonight my oldest daughter and I went to her boyfriends moms house to learn how to make cards. It was a lot of fun and there is so many clever ideas. While we went for our visit my oldest son and and husband went to a meeting at the high school on different colleges offering "trades".
It is funny so much goes on in a day but really I have nothing to write about I think I am too tired to think so I will go get ready for bed.

If I have one more meeting it will be one too many, I have had a meeting or two a night to attend every night this week. Sometimes I think it is all a waste of time but oh well here I am in the midst of it knee deep. It is getting quite slippery out there tonight and it was snowing when I drove home tonight.
I won't write long as I am very tired and tomorrow is another busy day.

Our town has a lovely Christmas Parade so many people come out to see it and so many floats participate in it. This year seemed a lot warmer than the last few years.

This is Hobo keeping warm in the new Hay shed he is a just year old now and it is kinda sad we think his hips are going or there is something else happening. He has made friends with the cat at the barn and they cuddle together.

Martin he left for his new home and his new friend a donkey today.
Today has been very busy with hockey lots of running back and forth to town. It was very cold in the arena today I am not sure what makes it colder some days more than others. I have been working on a scarf that I hope to finish tonight so I should go to work on it.

Today was a nice day I had coffee with mom and dad did chores went to town and went to spinning for a few hours then met mom and my oldest daughter for some Christmas shopping. Came home to chores, supper and a very, very cold house our house is only warm if we are home to keep the fire going. After supper back to town for hockey maybe someone will cancel it, maybe the ice will melt, maybe .... just dreaming.
I bought these lovely Christmas bulbs shaped like lights that are pink for our tree maybe I will take a picture of them to show you and our Christmas cards are very lovely they are different scenes of winter and horses. Every year I faithfully write out Christmas cards and then I often don't get them mailed. This year I will!!
At my spinning meeting I was very tempted to knit a toque so after I get these scarves down for my mom I will try a hat. Off to cook supper and to listen to Christmas music right now it is Charlie Brown music.

Do you ever wonder what makes these computers work sometimes; one time I will go on I have to put in passwords and e-mail address other times I just go straight and post a letter. Today is parent teacher interviews and boy I can't wait my youngest son's teacher is excited he has some ideas on how to get him to read AHHHHHHHHHHH this is the child who does not pick up books really does not care if he even looks at a book I wonder how clever we will be with these ideas into tricking him that he is reading.
We have a busy week with interviews, grad meetings, house cleaning, work, concession duty, volley ball games, and hockey.
Did you I know I can listen to Christmas songs on three different channels until at least December 28 Woo HOO!
Now how rude is this my husband asked me to turn down the Sirius radio because he just can't fall asleep listening to a lovely Christmas Carol last night that I just happen to know all the words . I told him I only have 21 days to listen... I read a story out of our chicken soup on Christmas every night and now Christmas music the only thing to make it better is hot chocolate and shortbread cookies.

This is what a teen age, worn out drama queen hockey player looks like. She is absolutely knackered. It was a busy hockey weekend... will it ever stop.... but man do they all love it.

Today was an extremely busy day with children going all over for hockey and a birthday party. So that left my two son's, myself and my oldest son's friend we moved a donkey and a mule then preceded to De worm, Glanvac goats. Then we cleaned up the barn area, moved old hay with the tractor and then moved a hay feeder, cleaned up dog messes, baked cookies, cleaned house and then had a huge moment over a mouse.
I was home alone and I heard the mouse trap go off so I ignored it for a while then sucked up enough courage to look under the sink, no mouse so that worried me because my husband is not coming home tonight. So later when my boys got home I made them look, nothing... then my middle son had a second thought looked and there was a mouse looking at him. Now my oldest son is terrified of mice it is really funny he flew up on a chair (picture 6 foot 1 boy make a lot of noise) so he said goes for the gun after a few minuets of getting the pellet gun and ignoring me telling them they can't shoot it in the house my oldest son is half way across the kitchen standing on a very expensive chair one foot on the island the other on the chair he aims and shoots the darn thing not an easy place to aim with the cupboard full of stuff. So with a lot of cursing, screaming, laughing we are one less mouse the cupboard is empty with mouse traps set and hoping my husband decides to come home tonight from hockey. Have a wonderful night talk to you all soon.

This helicopter flies over quite regular they are doing a testing sight for a mine way up in the mountains behind us, imagine how cool it would be if he dropped a few diamonds or nuggets onto our field:) at first the novelty of having a helicopter so close was way too cool, we would wave all the time now we hear him and keep listening for him coming back to make sure they are still safe up in the sky.

No, No, No no more sunflowers here I took that photo in the early fall when I finished the shawl however to make you feel better two weeks ago we were in Kamloops for hockey and a garden did still have very lovely sunflowers blooming just like the ones in our photo.
It is snowing tonight and I absolutely feel sick to my stomach my oldest son is driving my middle son home from hockey and I just can't stand it. I truly don't think I will make the winter with all this worrying.
I did pick up my mail and I received two very nice magazines The wheel by Ashford and Harrowsmith Country life I will enjoy reading those.
Today was a very productive day on top of the usual day of chores and school I got all the pop bottles picked up sounds like nothing but we have been saving them for nearly a year and the dogs got into them so they are all bagged up now. I did laundry, used the exercises machine, baked cookies, had spaghetti ready for the kids when they got off the bus at 4pm, went for a lovely walk with my poles, went off to hockey and hockey picture night. Hockey picture night is totally crazy we go for the first photo and then we are there to the last photo. Thank yo to all of you who left me comments it is nice to hear from you all and thank you for the name of the fruit I so could not remember it. Our life is really like a soap opera however a little less dramatic and to think I don't even go into detail on this blog or I would never leave the computer.
Oh thank GOD... I here my boys are home I am so glad someone is watching over them... did I mention it is going to be a long winter...only 6 more months or so of it... long, long, long winter.

THANK YOU

Today is a day where we acknowledge the men and women who have fought or are fighting for freedom in this crazy world. I don't just thank them today but everyday I think of how brave they are and how strong their families are. I know for a fact I am not that brave and I really don't know if I would be able to be strong. I am having enough troubles learning to let go of my older children and their driving.
I thank each and everyone of you who is brave enough to leave your home and family you are all truly amazing I wish I had one ounce of your courage.
Have a wonderful night, take the time to appreciate your family may your lives be full of Peace, Harmony and love.

What a fun day yesterday was but how can shopping be so exhausting I was just knackered when I got home. I did however get some paper work done last night I still need to do some work but not today we have dentist appointments, band concerts and hockey.
Yesterday day our drive was lovely a little over cast but no wind no rain or snow. I felt bad and I worried for little puppy but he did well my oldest daughter was her for quite awhile after I left and we made him a nice spot in a big cage so he could run around play, eat , drink and sleep.
In the knitting end of my life it has been slow I am working on a beautiful blanket in whites to cream that I only work on in the arena.

Good Morning
I am sitting here typing with a very bad puppy who has not let his owner sleep for nearly a week :) she had no sense of humor about it so maybe tonight we will have to try something else. H e is very, very cute and it is a good thing.
I am off to Christmas shop today mom and I are going to Kamloops so that should be fun I have a few ideas for the kids which of course I can not tell you about because they check into this blog now and then. It seems early but when you have a big family one needs to spread it out. I love Christmas my favorite part is it slows down a bit the excitement with children, the baking, I love to decorate and Sirius has about a month of Christmas Carols YEAH! right now we are enjoying the Garth Brooks special for two weeks. Well my side kick has fallen a sleep on my knee now so I must go put him to bed and start my day. Have a fun day!

Anyone for Halloween egging!

At our house this is how you do Halloween egging. 30 EGGS fell to the floor every single one broke they rolled all over across the floor under the table. Our shop vacuum cord caught them while I was cleaning house yesterday. My kids said I could have made a fortune selling them to other kids for Halloween night :)
