Birthday party

Yes that is Chocolate on her face Posted by Picasa

I have been told to update the blog

I would love to update the blog but life keeps interfering my goodness has it been busy. I went to Revelstoke on Sunday we had a good trip we left town at 9am and arrived home at 10pm it was a crazy game, rough but my son did get the only two goals even though he only got one given to him. Monday night we cancelled all our hockey and dry land training so we could celebrate my husbands birthday we had a chocolate fountain, juice fountain two birthday cakes, apple pie plus pork roast potatoes, rice, carrots. We bought him a personal vending machine for pop, juice or what ever, new wranglers, new hat, driving gloves, the new hockey movie "the Rocket" so over all it turned out to be a great night and after our birthday celebration we decorated our tree. The tree looks quite nice. However on that night we did have a scary moment I let the kids stay up really late to watch a Christmas movie and my youngest daughter asked me if I had a glue gun and I said no why what do you need it for she could smell it. So instant alert goes on we start smelling around and we can smell very hot wires, so we look behind the couch unplug lights and then we find it. We have a Christmas scene hockey skating animated and the plug is one of the big kind it was so hot we could not touch it. I was not too sure what to do so we unplug it from the extension cord and threw the brand new cord in the garbage and took the plug from the Christmas scene and I made them smell so they could know what hot wires smells like. If we had not stayed up late I think it would have started on fire and then heaven knows what would have happened I have a horrible fear of thinking how I would get all six kids out...
On a happier note I read at the arena Dec. 22 23 24 25 26 NO HOCKEY. That is the calm before the storm then we have tournaments and regular games.
I have made a lovely purse actually two purses one white one purple very cute and fun. I am knitting with some very fun wool from Fleece Artist. Time will tell what it will be. Well off to read my oldest son's poem that he is quite proud of. Good night.

I am finished the two parts for the new Poncho so now I get to sew them together and get it finished up. It is nice to see a project finished it is really quite exciting. I have started to make my Christmas purse in white wool with some Angora and some sparkle wool I hope it works out. To be honest a lot of stuff I do never goes as I picture it but it never stops me. I went to our Spinning Guilds Christmas party it was quite nice but I find I can't quite join in with my mind so occupied with stuff I have to do. Everyday this week I have been out all day and every evening so I have been wondering when does one wrap presents and I need to spend some time out with the farm. Today I am driving a van full of grade three's to the highs school for something to do with art and a volleyball game tomorrow a volley ball tournament then into a full weekend of hockey tournaments, games, practices and a long trip on a bus to Revelstoke. On the bus trip if I do go I plan on using my time wisely just not too sure with what yet. Well I am behind schedule must get the kids going.

Winter Time

  Posted by Picasa
I just got back from a wonderful lunch with my neighbors, Janet made a great pumpkin soup I never thought I would like it but it was nice. I left early because we are to go get a Christmas tree but my husband is running late the gut who is welding went for lunch in the middle of the job...
I am going to make myself a Christmas purse as soon as I finish this poncho I have the wool picked out and I think I will make it on my flat hand held loom. I will keep you in touch as I go with it. I have no time for spinning but I hope to get back with it after Christmas. Well my Christmas tree partner just drove it so off to find a Charlie Browner!

Yesterday we started to decorate the house what fun! It is exciting to get out all the Christmas stuff and set it but it is funny that by January one is ready to put it away and then our house seems bigger and cleaner. Last night while I was waiting between variety show, band meeting, and hockey my oldest son and I went around looking at houses to see if any decorations were up yet and just to look at nice houses. However we can not be discreet it seems everyone knows our van which is quite odd I never pay any attention to someone's vehicle. It seems when one has a large family people like to see what they do keep track observe. When we all go out together you would think we were all naked for the commotion we make and yet their are others with very, very large families that you read about and I bet they can't get any shopping down when they go up town:)Well I must run and get kids up to shower I am told I am taking an Angora bunny in for show and tell this morning. have a GREAT day. Today is December 1st the year it just going by way to fast.

In loving memory of Rosemarie "Rosey"

Rosie past away yesterday we have had her since she was three weeks old. She was a wonderful pig a wonderful pet. I will miss her so much. I love you Rosie. Isn't it funny how a little animal comes into your life and makes a huge impact, we have lost so many lately it is rather depressing. Posted by Picasa

I didn't realize it had been so long since I have posted but I have been busy. Today I wrapped presents and baked cookies for the cookie exchange on Sunday however I don't think I will be able to go the cookie exchange but if I can't go I will send one of my darling's. I always start out with great ideas for my cookies but every year they are not too fancy but I will keep trying.
My oldest son and my youngest daughter just headed outside to go in the hot tub ( in bathing suits only and a towel of course)anyways it is up to -23 and they get out to the hot tub and it must have turned off from all the rain and it was only 67 they just flew in from outside cursing and yelling. It was very funny not too much sympathy here.
When it gets cold here today was -25 it makes you wonder why we have so many animals it is very hard to keep them all warm and water for the rabbits is totally a night -mare. I have decided to cut down on the sheep and goats but I have to decide which way to go, so time to do some searching and figure out what I am to do.
It is so hard to believe it is December on Friday time is going way to fast.
Our cat Simon is missing she never goes very far if she is not on the back door step she is in the wood shed so I have a feeling maybe the Coyote might have gotten her. The last few days we have had a Coyote hanging around watching us from the next level of our property. Well must run have a wonderful evening.
