Enjoying the beautiful Fall day

The animals were enjoying the lovely day. They were quite content eating the grass, laying in the sun relaxing.

Sam's ducks.
These turkeys are very happy they are on our farm as Thanks giving is just around the corner and they know they are safe.
The movie stars are home they came home late last night around 10:30 pm. I think they were pleased they were home. They went straight to the barn and today they were the first one out to head the field. I guess all went well one escaped we kind of knew she would she has trouble knowing what a fence is for. Then there was some concern over the fighting of the goats we have a couple of very bossy girls which made the "extras" quite nervous! I was happy as I was handed a cheque over to me actually it was very cool and my kids were happy because the children who helped train the goats each got $100.00.
Last night I went to a card making night and had a look at the new catalogue; very nice stuff. Well off to wait for kids to call me have a good night.

Watermelon

Does that not look good

It makes me want Watermelon right now.
I am not 100 percent the name of the movie my girls are in is 2010 but when I googled it it said it was a movie in 1984 so I am not sure. One of the men who picked up the girls said it will be one of the most expensive films made in Canada. Good I hope they remember my famous girls:) I asked if their was anyone famous that they would meet but I am not a big TV or movie watcher so I did not know any names. He also told me it would be approx. 18 months or so until the movie came out. That is all I know. I will tell you more if I find anything else out.
We are still moving Hay third day in a row one more day tomorrow. Then I am finished I am hoping to be done in time to stop and go in the Terry Fox run with my youngest son but I will have to see how that plays out. We have been so busy with hauling Hay all day, hockey, school meetings every night I am so tired.

Famous Movie Stars

Getting ready for fame!
Posted by Picasa
These girls six of them are waiting patiently after a month and half of hard training. They are off to movie stars these six lovely girls are going to be famous or maybe one or two of them. The movie will take approximately 18 months to come out. So if it does show our girls I will set them up a t.v.in the barn so they can see themselves.
The girls will be gone for four days or could be up to a week. I could have joined them but I just don't have time to go. The one lady I spoke with mentioned she would take photo's but I will have to see as I am sure they are quite busy.
I was just hoping they would lead well each girl is quite trained at leading that is if they choose to be. I do hope they behave them self and don't' bunt someone famous in the bum.
Here they go it is quite sad to see them go but at the same time a relief as it was a lot of extra work the kids and I did every day.

Good Morning
Today is a full day as soon as I get the kids off on the school bus it is off to do chores have a coffee with mom and dad then off to move hay. I a picking up one of my oldest son's friends and we will see how much hay we can get today. I would like to be able to get what we need in two days. Then tonight my girls want to go to drop in soccer and middle daughter is off to get help with her Biology. I am of with my youngest daughter tonight to rent a clarinet.
Yesterday we were busy outside we did get time for a walk we went for a longer walk to the post office boxes we were so hot way too dressed. Our house is quite cool so it is quite easy to get hot while we head outside. I have been quite slow at knitting, crocheting no new projects just working on some old ones and I have not done any more sewing. It is funny I just can't make myself sit down and take the time to be creative maybe when it gets cold and work slows down outside. Well I must run have a great day

Fall Cleaning

Starting to clean getting ready for winter. It is so hard to believe but snow has come and gone in the mountains. We have started to get fog, frost has hit the garden, an abundance of pine needles. Where has the time gone our summer weather was not very good.

The second week of school and non of the children our too thrilled. My youngest son Oh man another whole week of school...poor guy. My middle son has been sick for the first whole week of school I felt so bad he was crying when he left for school today. The schools have it so hard for them to miss any and the PE class is awful more rules than jail. To miss any class for being sick they need a doctors note like any one is going to run every two seconds to the Doctor. I am pretty sure they have more important things to being doing than writing letters for students who just need a break or have a cold. We do not go to the doctor unless it is very serious even then it is a waste of time. Tomorrow I am off to start to haul some hay it will be good to get that done. Well must run have a good day and talk to you all soon.

We played with friends today

Today after hockey the kids invited some friends over. They had so much fun and they all played so nicely.
We decided to walk down to the river to see the Salmon spawning. It was quite neat to see them and one fish he swam so fast he was incredible. Then the kids decided they needed to swim. My youngest son striped down to his nickers and did not bat an eye. Oh to be ten years old.
Here is an amazing guy who did his incredible journey to come home. Gosh they absolutely amaze me how do they know how to get home.
Last night my son got a goal in the third period. I think he was pretty happy.

Sparkle looking very pretty
This is the fire starter I was cutting when I cut my finger with the axe. It is wonderful stuff it was a tree that fell a few years ago and it is full of Pitch very black pitch that lights so well. When we have fire wood of this stuff we can only put one piece at a time it is actually quite dangerous.
Today is a special day it is my nephew's third birthday. I talked to him earlier and he told me he is having chocolate cake, playing with his new John Deer grader and driving his new Hummer. What more can a three year old boy ask for!
Tonight my son is playing his second game this one in Campbell river last night he played in Victoria and they one and he got quite a bit of ice time so he was happy. Well off for tea and I have to be at the arena in the morning... sigh... it could be worse I could be my husband he has to be at a safety workshop at 8am in Kamloops and those are like watching paint dry. Yup sucks to be him

Apple picking

We finished the last of the apple picking tonight and we got quite a few.
If you look close you can see a goat eating apples. It is funny they could eat them off the grass but the little goats like to get them out of the box or bucket.
It is good to have these jobs done. Befrore you know it, it will be cold and snowy. My son is playing his first game tonight in Victoria he won't arrive back to Cambell River until 3:30 am. I am trying to stay awake I am not sure if he will call home.

Miss Hyacinth's Olympic cake
My middle daughter baked this cake my youngest daughter baked the Olympic cake for our going bake to school, fair well to Summer, bye to Jordan treat.

This is my son's new box for his truck he could put a lot of his stuff in it and lock it up.
Tonight my dad and I picked Apples we have so many we never got them all picked tonight. We are trying to beat the bear I hope she does not come tonight my goats and Alpacas are in that field. Today I spent the whole day cleaning my dresser drawers, and sorting my closet. Tomorrow I hope to get to the top of my closet and sort. My room was so clean until I started. I kind of regretted it this afternoon. I will probably take the rest of the week finishing up in my room. I am wondering if I should start on my husbands side ... he won't like that actually I was thinking he should move his stuff from our closet to my son's then I would have more room! I could spread out sort analyze and have a wonderful set up. Oh to dream. Well I am off to have a cup of tea and dream of my closet.

First day of school

Today was a busy day my oldest son left this morning and took 8 1/2 hours to get to Campbell River. He drove the whole way and said it was pretty intense and a little stressful. I am so proud of him that is the longest he has driven. His new gas tanks worked well and his shiny new box in the back of his truck matched his shiny tires. The tires that he polished all weekend.
He has set me up with MSN I vowed I would never do it but now my husband and I can talk with him if we ever match our time on the computer. I told him not to sign me up to anyone else though no time to chat. So we will see how it goes down there then if he stays we will go see him.
My kids are off on their first day of school I can't remember what they were laughing at but they thought they were funny. All of them sporting new clothes new shoes so all was good.
I am hoping to stay home tomorrow but hockey starts for my youngest son so I will have to see if I am going or my husband. Well I must run have a great night.

Lots happening today first day of school and my son leaves for Campbell River to play hockey. I am worried as he has to drive down by himself on the Coquihalla (main highway over the mountains) into the city Vancouver and he has no experience...
Yesterday was a full day also cleaned the house, unloaded wood, cleaned pine needles nearly cut off my finger with an axe while I was making fire starters. Lesson learned do not use a broken axe! Spent most of the day looking for things I put safe some of them are so safe I have yet to find them. Well must run chores have to be done before we head into town.

Look who has become friends

Here is George and Sparkle sleeping together under the kitchen table. They are quite good friends and they cuddle quite nicely.
Today really felt like a fall day. I brought fire wood down moved sprinklers and put my jacket on and off all day. We are doing our last minute school stuff, cleaning rooms and I am mentally trying to prepare myself for school. It is funny some people loved school enjoy the process but me it is an inside deep dread I had has a child and I still can't shake it all these years later. Maybe because I had such a horrible grade one year it ruined me forever!
When I get a moment I would like to organize my photos and maybe do a little sewing. I am also still crocheting my giant granny square it is coming quite nice but it is a slow process but I am sure the outcome will be lovely.
Well I should run I can here my boys all three of them playing guns flying through the back rooms. Hmmm what do you do with boys ... I will talk to you all soon enjoy one more day of summer holidays I know I am going to.

Fruit

Our peach tree was completely hanging over to the ground.

Here is our apple tree also very heavy with fruit. A lot of waste the sun dried them and the wind blew them off.

Apples, Apples everywhere we had to get at them before we had a fuzzy black bear visit us.

A long day that started by 4am with rain not much at home but quite a bit to the toll booth. My goats do not do well with rain not good at all but thank goodness it stopped and no more rain until we came back closer to our town. In the mountains above us fresh new snow AaaaaaaaaaaaaaCH... way too early. However there was no snow up the Coquihalla which was a blessing for traveling.
My husband and I were absolutely knackered it is funny I can stay up late get up early but traveling I just suck at it. I did stay awake all day but extremely tired. We were a bit late to unload but it all went well then we drove around and stopped at a lot of truck dealerships, four wheeler stores, sports stores all of that while I waited for the very cool quilting shop in Abbostford to open. I love that store so many pretty bolts of fabric I would love to bring a piece of each one home. If you ever get a chance go check it out it is called quilt essential. They also have a blog called notyourrunofthemill.typepad.com
I also found another cool store called OOH LA LA it reminded me of a store I went into in Howarth in Yorkshire. I'll tell you a secret I bought my mom's Christmas present in there..... I can't tell you what it is she reads my blog everyday!!!!!!
Keep warm have a safe and wonderful weekend.

Hockey starts this coming week, school starts time to settle into fall. We went to Kamloops when my husband got off work spent so much money it is stressful but everyone is ready for hockey and school. Then when we came home we loaded animals did chores.
On our drive home along our road the pine needles were coming down so fast it actually looked kind of neat. Anyway I must run talk to you soon

The last of my sea life
It is amazing how these shells grew onto the rocks I wonder how they did that.

We just had a nice visit with my sister and my nephew. We do seem to have short visits but we cram a lot in a quick minute. My sister was telling us there was snow in the mountains when she came down form bridge Lake. We have had such a crazy summer for weather not much fun at all.
This meat recall here in Canada is nuts we are all trying to figure out what we have bought where we have ate. I really feel our world is going crazy everything is to the extreme. I must run I have to be up by 2am and I am always worried I will sleep in. Talk to you all soon.

Oh my goodness it was cool today Fall is here. The pine needles are falling, wind is blowing, Blue Jays are back...where did the summer go. Less than a week and school is in sigh... that is so sad...you could not pay me a million dollars to go back to school. I do not miss it not for one minute. I sure hope my kids like it and I sure hope some of them do not remember that they do not like it! My oldest son is quite happy he is done.
Long weekend this weekend my husband gets Monday off and I think he may take my son to the ferry but we have not made that plan yet. I will fill you in on more but my kids are telling me to many stories to write.
