The last two days it has been cooler and quite wet. I really did not get too much done today. We did fit a 5km walk in. I bought birthday party stuff and helped my dad with the moving of the goat shelters, feeders and grain feeders. I paid my bills tonight. So I guess I did get some stuff done just nothing fun.
On Thursday we have another birthday then we get a lull until July. There has been a lot of cake around here.

Picking Moss. On Mother's day we went to town had a few visits and then went out on a back road to pick some Moss. It was like walking in a squishy thick carpet. Quite amazing stuff Moss is. It reminds me of being in England. We filled two big garbage bags.
Last night after supper I went out to check the chores as I was gone all day.
Then I found myself side tracked in the Lavender Gardens. I dream about the Lavender in full bloom and how wonderful it is going to smell. I know some people do not like Lavender but I can not get enough of it. The colour, the the fragrance is amazing the soft velvety feel. I really do love it.
Today I think I am going to plant some of my flower pots and then listen to me curse the weather next week if we freeze.
Weed eating is really not my favorite thing to do but NO one will do it for me. So I may break down and do it later. Where does one start when you live on acreage.
Well off to start the day. So far I am the only one up. I was up before six today no sleeping in for me...

Our last N.C. Elementary track meet. After six kids we have attended many track meets. It was a very nice day sunny and warm and enough of a breeze to keep the kids cool. Sam I am did well. He was a very good sport and seem to have fun all day. He did not eat hardly anything though and then came home and slept for nearly two hours.

In our front yard we have hundreds of birds. We filled the bird feeders and then add the pond and bird baths and it is a bird magnet.
It sounds amazing better than the rain forest. However they eat way too much I do not think I can afford to feed them.

It actually warmed up some. I hope it lasts now. We really need to get back to work. I have been doing yard work, tiding, sorting and planting.
We have turned the goats out on the field it has been two days. They only go out for a few hours so nobody bloats. The goats also come in every night. They sure are loving it.

Woke up to at least -3 ice on all the water troughs. However the sky is blue now and the sun is shining we just need some warmth added from that sun. I have been building a rock garden meaning ...taking a whole pile of rocks that I had moved from somewhere else. I am trying to make a huge rock flower bed. However it is slow going now as my back is trying to go out on my right side. So I had better be careful as I have too much work to do.

Rain, wind, snow, hail and a fire burning in the stove. That is how are days are going.
It is kind of funny to be working outside with your jacket on and zipped up as high as it can go. I have run out of fire wood again. I guess soon it will be so hot we won't be able to breath.
The Lavender is coming. I was out weeding one of the gardens today and I can see some growth. One garden is actually doing quite well. So this year I hope to get the new Lavender in the ground earlier so it can get a good root going before next winter.
I also washed off the front deck to get rid of the tom cat smell. Gosh it is bad enough if it was my own cat but someone Else's.
Today I am off to pick up the kids after school, maybe take my sixteen year old for his learners if he has not chickened out again. Then we are baby sitting over night. We are babysitting a very bad speckled little boy with big floppy ears. HUNTER a twelve week old Beagle. My daughter has to work a full day tomorrow so the little darling is coming to chew up my house.
Well I am warmed up now so I am off to do some more work.

Waiting for Summer. It is such a cold windy day today and fresh new snow all around us. The wind just cuts right through me as I work outside. I am planning new projects first one should be my house it needs cleaning and tiding. Our home sure takes a beating after a weekend. Then I many, many rocks to move so a project is in the plans. I also should tidy at the gate and up the driveway.
Yesterday we got the baking out of the way. Here in our we do not have a baking day that is good for the week two days tops for us:)
I am going to head into town after lunch to salvage puppy for Nana it is his first time alone this morning. He is a very bad beagle full of mischief, but oh is he cute.
Bulk bag of grain is ordered so it will be coming home soon. One daughter is off on a school trip to Victoria. I sure hope she find nice weather.
Well of to do some laundry and cleaning. Have a wonderful day

Yesterday was a fun full day. I planted some seed in the green house worked in the barn. Enjoyed a very nice dinner with My Mom and Dad and most of my children. Then we went for a walk up back on our property a cold walk. The wind is so cold lately. I really enjoy walking up top checking out how the trees have come down we sure will have a lot of brush piles this winter.
Today Allan and I are off on an adventure. My girls are all together in town and the boys are all together at home. I hope not too be gone all day. I love short little trips then I can do so much more in the day. So I am off I hope to get a few pictures. Have a wonderful day.
