Just a quick note tonight as it is getting quite late and we have to be at the arena by 6am. It is a long weekend of hockey. I am trying to figure out a price for my yarn no easy task so I counted each bag and I have 160 skeins of my new yarn. I should be able to figure it out tomorrow. I do have the prices the woolen mill quoted me to charge.
I have been doing some Christmas shopping haven forbid if anyone moves one dress in my closet. The closet is jammed full.
I am planning to go to Campbell River next week with my Mom to visit Jord. I do hope the weather will be nice for traveling . Jord just phoned he was freezing and it is raining. I hate the thought he has such a long drive home late at night.
I guess I will pack long johns and me warm coat. I might through in my very cool black water boots. However I am told the tide does not go out and the water is right up on the shore... Sigh... no sand dollars...

Happy Birthday Mom

Today is my Mom's birthday. She had phone calls all day she received many flowers she can flowers just about in each room. We bought her a lovely silk scarf and a very cute little candy dish. She can wear her scarf next Spring while she and I our on a trip to Europe. We made her a sponge cake they are so good and the bonus is she just bought a new scale and dad was upset with it so they each had one piece and we got the rest:) Miss Hyacinth made her cupcakes and I did notice all the cupcakes did not get over there. So anyways I hope you had a wonderful Birthday today. Love you lots

Last night I tried to make a post but for some reason it would not work. Here are some pictures from our Remembrance Day Fun!

We made a fire where I split the wood. To clean it up a wiener roast was in order. We had fun so I called my husband who was working on the logging truck and he said yes. However he never showed up so we just figured he was not hungry. Later we were talking and I had mentioned our youngest son had ate five hot dogs so supper would not have to be early. My husband then told me he did not know we had a hot dog roast and I said yes you did we invited you. He thought I asked him to pump out the hot tub. Hot Tub - wiener Roast. I don't get it they do not sound the same.

Well when it rains it pours here. This morning we were heading out to the bus but the van was not warming up so I asked why did they not start it. We have a self starter Miss Hya said it was going. So mad panic to get out to the bus our truck is diesel and needs to be warmed up in cold weather. Needless to say we made it with just with a few seconds to spare. So my dad looked at it, it was not the battery not the starter...the fuel pump. So of course no fuel pumps in town and it is not a good weekend for it to be gone we have a huge amount of hockey plus my daughter needs a vehicle. So if that is not bad enough I was changing laundry and our dry has quit working. I had notice the clothes were not drying very good. Our laundry machines go all day long. I have several loads waiting so off my husband went to buy a new one.

What a proud day we had

Today was Remembrance day it was a special day we shared it with family and many little friends. We had a lot of the kids friends visiting. There was baking, wrestling, hockey games, wiener roast, puppy playing and some craft making. The weather was beautiful. It was an all round good day! We watched the ceremony on TV and it always makes me sad, it is such a shame so many people have to die. I would like to thank each and everyone who has gone to war or had to let someone go. Please take this time to remember everything we have everything we have to be thankful for.

A true friend

Sometimes someone special comes into your life and does amazing things. Nothing of money value, not making a lot of noise just a true friend. Cowboy is so patient he gets danced with, wears stupid looking hats, has to eat boring food, has to wait all day for someone fun to come home... and yet he is there waiting.

This dog is amazing

Our dog Cowboy is amazing with the kids. He is beside them the whole time they are outside. He can play hockey as good as any of the Kids, if not better. He loves soccer. He absolutely loves my two boys. It really is incredible to watch. Would he save their life that I don't know maybe if there were no squirrels around...

What would you do with a pizza box

Sparkle knows what she would do with a pizza box. She laid on it cleaned her paws, rolled out on the box. As cute as she is on this box tonight she is on very thin ice. She hung from my canary cage made it fall over and smashed it to several pieces. We managed to catch the poor bird and get him into a different cage. Today the kids had the day off even with friends visiting and some of them away we got a lot of firewood done today. This morning it was my Dad my two son's and one friend cut a huge pile of wood. This afternoon I cut wood all the big pieces in our wood shed so slowly we are going to have enough for winter. We could have enough if I would quit burning it.
Today was a very exciting day for my Middle daughter she go her learners. She could have had it a month and a bit ago but she would not discuss it. So she kept taking the test on the Internet and then read the book every test she was getting 100% at the end. She said she was very nervous but she has it now someone has to teach her to drive. That is so her dads job!!! I also made time to go for an hour long walk and I came back covered in mud. Well I must run I need to find my bed.

Today we had three hockey games so it was a full day. It was awesome because I did not have to worry about supper my mom cooked our dinner and sent it over. It was great we had a roast, gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots and scalloped potatoes.
The puppies are starting to get more lively they are really cute. They are starting to eat really good now. I am glad for that as now I think our worry is over with them.
Yesterday I received 39 lbs of you 70% mohair 30% wool 2 ply yarn young adult and kid. It is quite nice if anyone is interested in either 2ply or Lopi let me know at sparkleoo5@yahoo.com.

Tonight I went to watch my husband play hockey and the game before his was my brother playing so that was cool.

This was Beaners big hit actually they are not allowed to check or hit but somehow this guy got in the way.

Today was a beautiful day it was much warmer the sun was shining this morning. We did get rain but not until the end of the day. We had hockey, birthday parties and a little shopping to do. My daughter's car was backed into while her boyfriend was waiting for her to bring in shopping. Thank goodness no one was hurt the man who did didn't even see her car and took full blame plus two witness came forward. Still the damage is done her car needs fixing, her nerves are shot, she was crying...During this we are trying to deal with a snively son we were late for hockey my poor husband because I stayed home and he went to town to deal with it all. Anyway every one is home safe now we are off to bed.

Today was a good day we went for a long walk, second day in a row and man oh man we were covered in mud. We had six logging trucks pass us today a very busy walk. We also started to sort photo's today so now I think we may be ready to start putting them into albums!
I finally got my plexi glass for my table and I was so choked it was a dark blue and I was prepared to take it back. My daughter had a friend over and she found out it had blue plastic over it to protect it...never said we were very bright.
I think my middle son is getting pushed around at school and I am not too sure how to go about it. Do I say something, wait it out it is hard with boys. I think according to my girls it is when he is walking down the hallway not out of school. Everything was going so good and this boy is two years older. I don't want it to be a night mare until grade twelve for him did I ever mention I don't really like other peoples kids. he has not said too much to me so I will figure out what to do.
I will be off now I hope you all have pleasant dreams and I will talk to you all tomorrow. I just need to figure out how to stay awake until my hockey players get home at 11:30 tonight.

This is Star Lavender's puppy she has the most different look of the bunch.
Today we had our first snow. I don't think I am ready for it, as pretty as it is I could do without it. I hate driving in it. I went for my first long walk in quite awhile. I have done short walks but today I did 6.3km and I was quite happy to know I am not out of shape. However it was quite slippery so you have to tread carefully.

Flying South

I guess the snow scared off the geese and they are heading south. What a long trip they have ahead of them I kind of feel sorry for them it gives me a lonely feeling. The time change makes going to the bus in the morning much better. The last few weeks we were heading out in the dark now it is quite light out.
During the afternoon it was quite nice out. I had a quick walk to the river then I found my clippers and began to clip some dry grass, willows and twisted willows for decorations. By the time I got back from the bus you could feel the temperature change it was dropping.Well I can hardly stay awake so off to bed I go.

Cookies and Lavender

I was just playing with my camera trying out some different settings and these cookies looked so good. The funny thing is I don't think anyone new they were here because they lasted more than a day.

Beautiful, Beautiful Lavender my Mom gave me all her Lavender. I absolutely Love Lavender I have many plants in my yard. Lavender all over my house I sleep on Lavender my very lucky husband does too:) We eat Lavender cookies there is Lavender in our sugar it has been in our tea and juice. Sachets of Lavender have been given as gifts snuck in my wool I am even going to try to make lavender Incents(not sure on that spelling). I make my own Linen lavender spay and pray it on my bed at least three times a day and in my closet. Oh the smell is unbelievable if you all should go out and purchase some if you do not have any. Oh yeah even better if you could get some Lavender from the south of France theirs is incredible the best amazing!

I can always tell when someone has been on my camera. Now my guess would be Miss Hyacinth and this would be Sparkle!

Our neighbor was burning brush piles we have a huge amount of Pine beetle wood here. well he had a few good fires going and someone phoned the fire department. I did not even know he was burning until I met the Fire truck with lights going, men and a women in full gear. I am not sure why anyone would phone it was quite obvious not a house and just piles. Any way I think he was choked because he was phoning around looking for who phoned the department. No easy task as we have sort of protection but we are out of the protected area.

Here is our snow right above my Mom and Dads house. Way too close for me as I do not have winter tires on yet. Winter is moving in last night coming home from town it was terrible with fog. I do hate winter driving.

The pictures do not do the fires justice they were much larger and brighter in real life. I went to my friends house to make cards last night I made a good start on decorations for my daughters avid school party. Lots of snow flakes actually very cute snow flakes I will show you tomorrow when I get a good picture.

I have not talked to much about my knitting and crocheting but I am slowly working on a blanket and I am thinking of a vest or a hat for a winter project.
I have so much yarn 70%mohair 30% wool lopi and 2 ply. I am just waiting to price it out. It is still in the natural colour I am thinking I should dye some! I have a load of Kid Mohair yarn coming soon. If anyone is interested in purchasing any let me know.

Before

This is the work bench and disrupted room before I got it all organized. Now I have a wonderful "Studio" hmm I wonder if that word will grow on me! Do you see Mimzy helping me. He is so funny I hope the pups have his personality he is such a fun dog. He is so much fun, happy and just loves life. Princess is a true princess calm, cuddly and will sit beside you just soaking up the attention and at the same time giving out calm vibes. That is of course she is not in her cage with six pups getting claustrophobia.

New work bench

This is the new work Island my husband built for me. It is the right height to stand up and work at. I really like the tile and the grout that I picked. I did not have too much choice as we never really thought out the measurements for the tile. I also did not want to rent a tile cutter but it worked out.

I am really happy with this new space. It looks out into my front yard and has a lot of natural light which was what was lacking in my last area. It was not very good light.

It looks so beautiful the only problem is now I don't feel very creative. I don't even know where to start. I guess it will hit me soon I hope soon!!!!
It could be because I have had no sleep with this Momma dog, I was up all night with her. So tonight she is going to sleep out. She does not want to be in only to feed the pups then out again. It could be our house is too hot for her as she is used to being outside more.
Today I had two sick kids home one with stomach and one with a very sore throat. Miss Hyacinth was feeling very rough tonight. The tummy ache boy should go to school tomorrow lets hope it does not go through them all. Today Sam came home all excited to show us a 9x's table trick. I have been trying to show him that trick for two years. I guess that's why I am not a teacher sigh...

They ate really good the first day but now they seem to be fighting it.
Today was hockey and a nice visit with my niece we actually had a cup of tea. I finally finished my table this evening I am quite happy with it I will show you photo soon. I am still rearranging my craft area maybe I should call it my Studio as I plan to do great things in there :) I do notice I seem to make a mess while I am doing a project so when I finish this room I will have to clean up the deck.
It was quite sad we fed all the pumpkins to the goats today I really loved to look at the pumpkins. I guess tomorrow I will take down our ghost and then wait a while and put up our snowman. I am absolutely knackered so I am off to bed.
