Sam's new chair. It is so comfy. He loves it. However I feel a little bad I never realized how full of flowers it was until now. It's just that is was less than half the price. Now I wish I could get him a different cushion. Poor Kid good thing he is only eleven. He slept in it the first night he had it.
He has not been feeling well. I am glad school is just about done.
Today we spent the whole day outside working. It is not really nice at all. Tonight I was so cold in town it made you feel sick. Only because we were dressed for summer had we been dressed for Fall weather it would have been fine.

My garden helper. She would love to smell the Lavender, steal the tags, sit on the plants. Then lean on me until I gave her a cuddle. A few times she would get knackered and have to go to her cage and have a sleep. However by tonight her poor feet were hurting her. I thought about putting some socks on her. Does anyone think that would help?
These have since been planted with much help from Miss Lulu. She was so funny she would put her nose right into the plant like she was smelling them. I told you she was special. Then she would come back and carefully steal the tag I planted with each plant. I had to tell her no several times. She is so cute. She loves to cuddle even if she is wet and muddy. Oh yeah she quite likes to lay on my lavender plants. I think she likes the aroma.
What am I going to do with all these plants? Nothing absolutely nothing but enjoy them. I already have many plants in my front yard this will just add to the beautiful smell when the wind blows.
Summer Solstice for us was doing projects. Savannah moved Sam into his own room and helped Dalton clean his room. I hing two stars on our gate. They were for when we were going to redo the barn but I don't think that is going to happen now. So they do look beautiful on the gate.
Summer Solstice
In these pictures you can see where I dug, raked, cleaned laid sand, pulled weeds. We put in fence post. We planted 100 Lavender plants all of this in the rain. It rained all day it was so good for us. We were so dry and our forests were so dangerous. I planted one hundred plants and I still have a flat plus to plant. I dug so many little holes my neck was actually cracking when I stood up.

This weekend is the first day of summer. WooHoo. Summer Solstice. We always try to do something fun. However this year I am missing my oldest son and my husband. They are down at the coast doing hockey. So tomorrow we hope to visit Kamloops. Go to Art Knaps I have a 40% off gift certificate off one thing. Our dinner is going to be Broccoli soup, biscuits, mud pie cake. Our projects not too sure.
Allan went off to the auction today we sold fourteen goats and ten roosters. So that said it was a full load. It was a little hard putting the cattle rack on the new truck but he did it.
We took Sam out of school early today. I had to go back to town to pick up my oldest daughter from work. While I was in town I took Lulu to the vet for a check up. She is good her feet are sore. I could tell she was hurting but it wasn't until I was waiting to take her in to see the vet that I really looked at her feet. The poor girl has the pads of her feet wore off with little cuts. The look like if we were to pull a blister off raw. It is from not being outside before and walking on the hard ground and our gravel. The poor thing no wonder I have to keep her packing her around. So tonight we played with her on the grass and in the hay field and she was fine. She avoids any gravel. I found an old carpet and put in on the gravel for her to lay on.
The vet told me to keep her on the thin side not to let her get heavy. So she will be a slow grower and to help her when she is older with any problems with hips. Not a problem but I think she helped her new friend eat his dinner.
Make great memories this weekend. Take pictures. Do a project.
Think! What are you going to do For your Summer Solstice Celebration!
It is getting very late so I will say goodnight.

Today we had to go to town quite a few times. When I have to do that I get nothing done. It was warm enough today not beautiful. Our poor ole pick up truck is acting up. My husband has had it. We have been married 21 years and all those 21 years he was going to buy a truck... We have hit every car dealership from the North to the Island.
which has made some pretty long trips. I actually try not to have to go look at them with him. He has read many, many, many, many, many magazines. All we hear is about trucks. Well he just phoned me he is coming home with a new one. I think it is black, crew cab, long box...not too sure on anything else. However we still have to go back to Kelowna and pick up our white truck they were not going to give him anything much for it. So he said to "xyzoxy" with it and kept it. I do not know to many details. I guess I will learn them all on the first payment:) We really needed a new vehicle. The truck is a better option as we are not ready to down size our van yet. Well I will write more later.

We went to town today and again tonight. Tonight it was for Miss Hyacinth's awards night. She won a Diligence award. So it was nice for her to end the school year on a good note. She is done grade seven now. So only Master Samuel has school. He is finished next Thur. Then let the holidays begin!!
We have had many storms today all around tonight we finally had some rain at our house. There is a lot of thunder and lightening. Very Crazy Weather!
Tonight we went to go to Dairy queen after the awards night and they have a brownie Batter blizzard. Well Miss Hyacinth had to order first so she very politely went up and asked for a "Brownie Bladder Blizzard Please"
We laughed so hard no one else could hardly order. Poor girl she was so embarrassed.
This was in our local paper
The write up below was in our local paper. It is about my youngest son.
Sam Suzuki from Nicola Canford was just plain unbeatable in every event that he entered. The personable eleven-year-old won five first-place ribbons, and accumulated a perfect 50 points in the battle for the 1998 boys’ aggregate title.
Suzuki very nearly made it six-for-six as the speedster anchored his school’s relay team to victory, only to see his squad suffer the misfortune of a disqualification due to a bad baton exchange.

Miss Lulu's first walk in town. We only went to the track and river so it was not too much. I think she is a little overwhelmed with all her firsts. We the took her to meet Marilyn and Grandma. She is too funny she can not do steps yet. She did not seem quite as jumpy today. However you can see she is still very nervous. I am hooping she isn't idle. She does like to lay down lots. My like she will be lazy however with her being so black the sun likes her.

Dalton made a whistle out of willows. It was quite exciting it actually worked. Grandpa had been teaching them how to make them the other night.
Today we were so busy. I watered and watered some more. We took broken toys up to the garbage pile. We move our old play boat to the garbage pile. It was kind of sad to see it go. Allan and Miss Hyacinth put up an electric fence in our front yard. We went to town went for a 5km walk, did some shopping at Walmart. Pool stuff. Picked up kids brought friends over to play. Had very nice people pick our logging truck up for us from Kamloops. Used a giant broom to sweep the pool. We separated two fields of goats, then separated the sheep. We found two more baby chicks. During all of this Lulu made her self at home. She was so scared and jumpy. She did not know how to go down stairs she did three then rolled down the rest. Then after that she would not even try them. She is very faithful. She stayed with me all the time. She sits really well. She has lovely clumsy feet that she will give to me to shake. She really seems to trust me. Now however there is one downfall to Miss Lulu... she smells now and then bad gas smells. She is going to be a big dog so her bath room mess is big. I am used to little tiny dogs. Her stomach seems upset. I am thinking she is just scared. She did so much today all of it firsts. She lived in the pet store for a month in a small room. A nice small clean room yet still inside she was only outside to get to the vet for her vaccinations. I really love her she is perfect. I hope she stays good. I am quite happy she is not a little baby this is a little better for us. She seems to get along really well with the other dogs. She was with Candy and Star and she would gallop past them. Well I had better run I have to drive the kids in the am. The older school two need to fix their school timetables. I am meeting Savannah and her dog Roxy so Roxy can meet Lulu.

Mom if you are reading this tell Dad Dalton made a whistle tonight and it worked. He is taking it to his out door ed class. Also there are quite a few fires. Jordan did get to go out tonight in the helicopter to a fire in a remote area in the mountains near 14 mile shacken reserve. The sky was amazing tonight. I will put up pictures tomorrow. Tell me what you think of LULU. I love her she is the one I was telling you about. She has the same eyes as Poppy. Maybe she has a little bit of Poppy in her... you know what I mean. It was just suppose to happen. She maybe not be beautiful in the pedigree way but she is very sweet. I think you will love her.
Her pedigree is: her Mom a Fully registered (German working dog) German Shepard who fell in love with a boy named Toby who is a standard poodle (oops) he is black and white. She is going to be quite big. She has lovely clumsy feet and like to climb on my knee. Well I must run it is quite late.

Meet LULU. She is so wonderful. She is going to be quite a big dog she has big feet she needs to grow into. I have waited for nearly two years for her. I was waiting for a Border Collie but it kept falling through it just never seemed to work. If it had worked I would have picked up a new puppy last week.
I was in Kamloops on the weekend and I went to the Pet store to buy pond fish and we always take our time to look at all the animals and check out all the isles. I saw her in a pen. She had these most beautiful eyes. That looked right through me. I could not shake the feeling of her. I was awake half the night wondering if she was the one. After some soul searching I knew I needed her. So I phoned for some info and by four thirty I was on my way to pick her up. It all fell into place. I was actually nervous I have never bought one like this. My husband had to go to Kamloops and needed a ride home so woo hoo I had a reason to go to Kamloops. My van is sporting new tires and OMG it is so fixed it is awesome to drive again. So off I went with my kids.

Thought we should remember Maui a little. Look at this wonderful water. The colour is amazing.
Today we worked very hard. A lot of yard work was done today. We trimmed a big tree our willow. It is not the right time of year but we still did it.
I planted some veges, some flowers weeded moved large piles. The barn was cleaned. Toy area was sorted now to take it to the garbage pile. Our old play boat is going to the pile also. So much I want to do and it seems to take so long. I wonder if I will ever get caught up.
We start school exams tomorrow. Then this week is in full force with things to do. Track meets, museum visits, old house visits, awards days the list just goes on and on...and on ...and on...
